2025 Equipment Impact!

2025 has been a record setting year for the Calgary Flames Sports Bank. From outfitting days, to community outreach, different events we were privileged to be a part of, and the
number of pieces of equipment we gave out to a record setting number of children.
This year, thousands of children across the city suited up to play Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, Football, and Lacrosse amongst other sports. They all have something in common, the love of the game.
The Calgary Flames Sports Bank has been extremely fortunate to have been a part of several campaigns to help develop sports in Calgary and team up with some fantastic partners, supporters, volunteers and groups along the way.
Some of our key highlights in 2025 were:
19,000 pieces of no-cost equipment were given out to over 4,200 children. Both of these statistics are new records for the Flames Sports Bank.
Of those 19,000 pieces we handed out over 500 brand new helmets to children playing Hockey, Lacrosse, and Ringette. Thanks to our fantastic partners, supporters, various groups, fundraisers, and generous community members, we were able to purchase brand new helmets for children playing these sports.
Over 600 pairs of Hockey skates and 700 hockey sticks were put on the feet and in the hands of children to play Hockey.
800 plus Soccer balls and Soccer cleats handed out. More than 500 Volleyballs, Basketballs, and Baseballs were given.
Racquet sports including Badminton and Tennis continue to rise in kids wanting to play and we were able to give out over 250 racquets.
We were able to assist children with gear for over 40 different sports in 2025 and we look to increase these numbers in the next few years.
As we look ahead to 2026, we need your help in securing even more gear, especially helmets for children.
This holiday season, donate to the Power of a Helmet Campaign. We need your help to purchase even more helmets for 2026. We never want to see a child left on the sidelines because they don’t have the proper equipment. We need your help to get as many helmets as possible onto the heads of children so they can play the sports they love.
