FREE Try Ringette Event on June 5

CALGARY, AB (May 5, 2022) - Fresh off their extremely successful 1st season, which saw 8 players of mixed abilities get off the sidelines and find their place in sport, Ringette for All is looking to welcome new members to their team! This event will provide an opportunity for children to get on the ice with RFA coaches and volunteers, with proven experience in supporting those of all abilities. This hour-long ice time will strive to let emerging athletes experience the sights, sounds, and feel of ringette and inspire and open their eyes to the power of “team”.
“But my child can’t skate”
That’s our job! In our first season, all but two participants came to us with none or limited skating abilities. Through teaching, support and problem solving, all were skating and doing ringette-specific skills by the end of the season.
“My child doesn’t have the required equipment”
No problem! RFA has partnered with The Calgary Flames Sports Bank and KidSport Calgary and Area, to remove the barriers to sport. Through their support, we can ensure that every participant will have the required equipment available for the event. Email admin@flamessportsbank.ca for information.

Both parent and media inquiries are welcome.
Ringette For All is designed to empower our athletes by teaching core life skills inherent to ringette and all sport, including teamwork, communication, resilience, and inclusion in a fun and safe environment. Some children, due to varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities, may not have been provided the opportunity to participate in team sports. Our goal is to create a space for all kids to feel the power of sport and team!
The Calgary Flames Sports Bank provides no-cost gently used sports equipment to qualified kids 18 and under throughout Southern Alberta. These two local organizations are 100% community-funded charities that work to raise money in our community so they can tackle the largest barrier to sport participation by significantly lowering the costs associated with sport. They are here so that All Kids Can Play.
KidSport Calgary & Area raises money in our community to aid qualified kids 18 and under so they can participate in sport. Financial assistance from KidSport is used to cover a portion of the registration fees of a child’s desired sport.
